Harmeet Sahota – Executive Headteacher and Consultant
Harmeet Sahota is an accomplished senior leader with over 20 years of experience in the education sector. He currently serves as the Executive Headteacher of Sikh Academies Trust (SAT), having previously held the position of Headteacher at Pioneer Secondary Academy. During his tenure at Pioneer, Harmeet drove significant growth by enhancing educational quality and reputation, increasing the pupil population by over 25%. This achievement is a testament to his expertise in innovation, efficiency, and change management. Under his leadership, the Trust is on a clear upward trajectory; Khalsa Primary School is currently thriving as an outstanding institution, while Pioneer Secondary Academy is equally successful, recognised as outstanding and good in all categories.
At the Trust level, Harmeet led SAT through a period of rapid transformation, successfully lifting a DfE Notice to Improve (NtI). Through meticulous resource management, he transitioned the budget from a projected deficit into a robust surplus, with the DfE recognising the Trust as the ‘gold standard’ for financial reporting.
Specialising in school improvement, EdTech innovation, and wellbeing, Harmeet is a certified Google Trainer and leadership consultant. He formerly served as the Regional Lead for the EdTech Demonstrator Programme, where he supported schools across the UK in adopting effective technology strategies. He is a frequent speaker on change management and sustainable innovation, sharing insights at major education conferences across Europe and the Middle East. Harmeet is also the founder of Curriculum Wide, a platform dedicated to supporting schools in developing a student-centred curriculum.
