Unblock the ITT pipeline to ensure race equity in schools
People of colour are less likely to get an offer to train to be a teacher than white peers. We’re coming together to tackle such inequity.

Significant ethnic disparities in progression occur in Initial Teacher Training (ITT). People with a diverse heritage are over-represented among applicants but less likely to be accepted to an ITT course than their white counterparts (Sharp and Aston, 2024).
WomenEd, BAMEedNetwork, and HeadTeachers’ RoundTable are coming together to lead a conversation about tackling such inequity. By the end of our event, we want to have agreed on clear actions to change these outcomes. Join in the discussion and let’s all disrupt this inequity.
