Ali is from the United Kingdom and involved in supporting school organisations globally with school start-up, development projects, teacher and leadership training. Ali is currently the Director of Learning and Teaching at SEK International School Qatar, and a member of the International Baccalaureate Educator Network (IBEN) for the PYP, MYP and DP in various roles such as school visits team leader, consultant, workshop leader, curriculum reviewer and developments contributor. He continues his doctorate (EdD) studies, which is dedicated to the IB Research Department. Ali advocates for diversity as an educator, in addition to health and wellbeing as a qualified fitness trainer.

In 2014, Ali began working voluntarily supporting other educators, international schools and school boards as a consultant through Sky Educate.
