I have been tweeting out recently about coming together to share each others cultures. Irrespective of where YOU are from, or who YOU are. My thoughts are that food and drink is what brings together many a person! Right?
So, how about between now and the end of this academic year, we all delve in and taste a little from each others culture(s)?
We could try each others foods, drinks, languages, music and atmosphere.
Maybe, we could try each others clothing too?
So, here is the first of the events that I would like to invite you ALL too. Whoever, and anybody- Come to #BAMEed Cultural Event.
This one will be from me, Amjad- @ASTSupportAali one of the co-founders of #BAMEed.
I want to invite you to Southall to taste an authentic PAKISTANI curry! (<-- Read some TripAdvisor reviews.)
I know, most of you will have had an Indian takeaway before, but here, I want you to taste some of the cooking, I have grown up with. Some authentic, meat and vegetarian cuisine. In a no nonsense/fuss type setting. Busy, real, working kitchens. No fancy waiters, just hearty, home cooked food!
After the mains, I would like to take you to taste some mithai. Original and authentic. I particularly love Chum Chum.
Are you close to Southall? Have you heard of it? It is Junction 3 off the M4 towards London. An overground train and tube is available.
Could you car share?
We could then go on to smoke a little Sheesha. Have you heard of it? Want to try it?
Also, can you run the next event? Where? What type of food?
